To enable us to provide you with a service that is personal, efficient, and quick we need to collect some basic information via our website.
We collect your information to be able to make this as straightforward a process as possible and collect this information when you are booking a session, emailing, completing the contact us form or if we need to contact you. No matter how you use our site, we want to help you to use it as effortlessly as possible.
All the information you enter into our website will be stored in the admin area of the site and will generate a notification which is emailed to the Counsellor through info@reachingharmony.com to let us know you have been in touch and the nature of enquiry.
Please note we do not keep information discussed during our sessions online, this is stored in the strictest of confidence and in line with the ICO recommendations.
The types of data we collect
We also collect data that shows how many times our website has been viewed although this does not show who has viewed it.
How we get the personal information and why we have it
Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:
We may share this information only under extreme situation although this is quite rare, your counsellor has a duty of care and if you were to disclose matters involving a serious/life-threatening risk of harm to self or others, they might have to act on it. Your counsellor also has a legal duty to report anything to do with terrorism / acts of terror or money laundering.

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:

How we store your personal information
Your information is securely stored.
We keep names, phone numbers, emails, addresses and session notes for seven years after your sessions have concluded, this period starts from the date of our last contact. We will then dispose all confidential information by shredding and burning.
At times it may be necessary to keep records beyond the seven-year period and if this is the case a note will be added to the record stating reason for not destroying along with date this decision was last considered and by whom.
Your data protection rights
Under data protection law, you have rights including:
Your right of access- You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.
Your right to rectification- You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.
Your right to erasure- You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.
Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
Your right to object to processing - You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
Your right to data portability- You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.
You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
